The NAD212 and NAD224 type converter is used for NAMUR signal processing of various sensors (proximity sensors, flow sensors, optical, capacitive, inductive sensors, etc.). The input signal according to DIN19234 (EN60947-5-6) is connected to the NAMUR terminal (+ pole, C) and to the GND terminal (- pole, B). The signal of a conventional voltage-free contact, REED or open collector can be connected between the REED (+ pole, A) and GND (B) terminals. Positive pulses are applied to the IMP (D) input against GND (B). The inputs and outputs are protected against overvoltage and lightning effects by fast suppressor protection.

If the NAMUR input signal is less than 1 mA, the 1:1 output is disabled. If the input current is greater than 3 mA, the 1:1 output is ON. The two N:1 outputs are switched on and off according to a binary preset division ratio in the range of 1:1 … 4095:1 (212). The width of the divided pulses is adjustable to 1x, 4x, 16x the input pulse width.

The module is protected against power supply connection with reverse polarity. The presence of power supply, the status of the 1:1 output signal and the two N:1 outputs are indicated by front panel LEDs.
